Winter school venue

The DDHT winter school will take place in Palazzo Vistarino (https://www.palazzovistarino.it/eng/), an historical building now headquarters of the alma ticinensis foundation, and recently (starting 2007) renovated by the foundation, after having been abandoned for about 30 years.

All the lectures will be held in the Music Hall (sala della musica ).


Palazzo Vistarino is located in the city centre of Pavia, within the pedestrian only area along the river Ticino.

By plane 

The city of Pavia can be easily reached from the airports of Milan (both Milano Linate and Milano Malpensa, Terminal 1 and 2) and Bergamo (Orio al Serio). In order to reach Pavia:


By train

Pavia is on the Milano-Genova trainline. 

Moreover, it is connected to Milan by the S13 suburban line, stopping at the stations indicated in the picture below, which are interconnected with other train lines or tubes. 

The S13 suburban train guarantees trains every 30 minutes from 5.30 AM to  11 PM (you can find the timetables in both directions here).

Tickets can be bought both online and in the stations.

By car

Since Palazzo San Felice, where the Department of Economics and Management is located, is placed in a ZTL (traffic-restricted zone for unauthorized vehicles), you can park nearby.  

P.S. Please note that white parking lines indicate free parking areas; blue lines mean that you must pay a fee in order to use the lot, generally you can use parking meters working with coins; finally, yellow lines indicate that parking is reserved for select users or vehicles, so generally it is better to avoid them).
